In accordance with 10CFR72.140(d), the STP Nuclear Operating Company provides notification of its intent to apply the previously approved 10CFR50, Appendix B, quality assurance program for South Texas Project Units 1 and 2 to an Independent Spent Fuel Storage Installation to be constructed at the South Texas site. The Nuclear Regulatory Commission approved the quality assurance program for operations under Docket Nos. STN 50-498 (Unit 1) and STN 50-499 (Unit 2) in the Safety Evaluation Report dated April 29, 1986. The current quality assurance program is described in the Operations Quality Assurance Plan, Revision 20 that was effective February 1, 2012 and one interim change (QA-074) effective June 14, 2012.

In accordance with 10CFR50.54(a), STPNOC will revise the OQAP to reflect the requirements of 10CFR72.140(b) and the recordkeeping requirements of 10CFR72.174.
