Letter to David L. Wilson (NPPD) from Arthur T. Howell III (USNRC) dated January 2, 2002, "NRC Inspection Report 50-298/0112; Preliminary White Finding (Cooper Nuclear Station)"

The purpose of this letter is to confirm Nebraska Public Power District's (NPPD's) request for a Regulatory Conference to address an apparent violation of 10CFR55.49 as identified in the referenced inspection report. Our request for a Regulatory Conference was discussed with Mr.

Anthony Gody in the NRC Regional Office on January 10, 2002, by Mr. David Kunsemiller of NPPD. A date for the Regulatory Conference will be coordinated with Mr. Gody by Mr.

Kunsemiller.

A separate letter will be submitted at least one week prior to the Regulatory Conference containing NPPD's evaluation and any differences with the NRC evaluation in accordance with the instructions contained in the subject inspection report.
