Remove Tier 1 and Tier 2* Requirements On July 25, 2024, Southern Nuclear Operating Company (SNC) submitted a License Amendment Request and Exemption Request [ADAMS Accession Number ML24207A108]
seeking approval for removal of the 10 CFR Part 52, Appendix D, Tier 1 and Tier 2*
requirements for Vogtle Electric Generating Plant (VEGP) Units 3 and 4.
After discussion with the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff, SNC is withdrawing the request dated July 25, 2024, regarding the removal of the Tier 1 and Tier 2* requirements.
This letter contains no regulatory commitments. This letter has been reviewed and determined not to contain security-related information.
In accordance with 10 CFR 50.91, a copy of this withdrawal is being provided to the designated State official(s).
