Ladies and Gentlemen:
On March 12, 2012, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) issued Reference 1 to all power reactor licensees and holders of construction permits in active or deferred status. Enclosure 2 of Reference 1 requests licensees to perform a reevaluation of all appropriate external flooding sources, including the effects from local intense precipitation on the site, probable maximum flood on stream and rivers, storm surges, seiches, tsunami, and dam failures. of Reference 1 required each addressee to submit the Flood Hazard Reevaluation Repor*t within one to three years from the date of the information request.
Reference 2, the Flood Hazard Reevaluation Report (FHRR) for HNP Units 1 and 2 was provided as an Enclosure in SNC letter NL-14-0326, dated March 6, 2014. Following the submittal of the HNP Units 1 and 2 FHRR, SNC responded to a request for additional information in SNC letter NL-14-1229, dated August 6, 2014. A supplemental request for additional information (transmitted electronically by the NRC) was received on May 4, 2015. SNC provided that response on June 5, 2015. An "Information Need" (also transmitted electronically by the NRC) was received on October 1, 2015. As requested Security-Related Information - Withhold Enclosures From Public Disclosure Under 1 O CFR 2.390
U. S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission NL-16-0322 Page2 Security-Related Information - Withhold Enclosures From Public Disclosure Under 10 CFR 2.390 by the NRC, the response to this "Information Need" was provided on the electronic portal on October 13, 2015.
Based on discussions beginning on February 2, 2016 and concluding on February 29, 2016, the NRC has requested that the responses to Questions 1 and 8 from the October 1, 2015 "Information Need" be provided on the docket. Enclosures 1 and 2 are exactly as provided on the electronic portal and provide the requested information.
