NL-10-0005 Joseph M. Farley Nuclear Plant - Units 1 and 2 Emergency Response Data System Data Point Library Modification Ladies and Gentlemen:
In accordance with the requirements of 10CFR50, Appendix E, Section VI, Item 3a, Southern Nuclear Operating Company is submitting changes to the Joseph M. Farley Nuclear Plant Unit 1 and Unit 2 Emergency Response Data System (ERDS) data point library. This change, to use data points which receive digital signals from field instruments, is being made because the previously used data pOints received analog signals which are less accurate. The following ERDS data points have been assigned to transmit meteorological tower data from the Integrated Plant Computer:

- WS35FT (Wind Speed 35 FT Elevation)
- WINDSPD-150P (WS 150' - Pri Met)
- WS150FT (Wind Speed 150 FT Elevation)
- WINDDIR-35P (WD 35' - Pri Met)
- WD35FT (Wind Direction 35 FT Elevation)
- WINDDIR-150P (WD 150' - Pri Met)
- WD150FT (Wind Direction 150 FT Elevation)
The changes were implemented on December 11, 2009.
