On December 29, 2006, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) issued a Notice of Violation and Proposed Imposition of Civil Penalty to Southern Nuclear Operating Company (SNC). SNC has chosen to pay the proposed Civil Penalty of $104,000 and will not contest the Civil Penalty in whole or in part. The Notice of Violation EA-06-13 required that SNC provide a statement indicating when and by what method payment was made.
Southern Company has made the required payment to the NRC utilizing the Automated Clearinghouse Network (ACH) as described in Section 1 of NUREG 0254, Rev 2; NRC Payment Methods. This payment was made via ACH on January 23, 2007.
This completes the information requested by the above referenced Notice of Violation.
