By letter dated July 8, 2005, the NRC transmitted Inspection Report 05000321/2005003 and 05000366/2005003 for Plant Hatch to Southern Nuclear. In the Inspection Report, the NRC identified an apparent violation and preliminarily assigned a low-to-moderate safety significance finding to the apparent violation. In the subject letter, the NRC also provided Southern Nuclear with the opportunity to request a Regulatory Conference regarding the apparent violation and proposed White finding.

Southern Nuclear appreciates the opportunity to meet with the NRC on this issue and by this letter requests a Regulatory Conference, as provided by your July 8, 2005 letter, to further address the apparent violation and proposed finding.
