Per the requirements of 10 CFR 50, Appendix E, VI.3.a, Southern Nuclear Operating Company is submitting the following changes recently made to the Plant Hatch Unit 2 Emergency Response Data System (ERDS) database, documented in plant drawing A-5 1672.
The maximum drywell and torus oxygen concentration instrument range is being changed from 30 to 10. Additionally, the high alarm trip setpoint is changed from 4.0 % to 3.5 %.
Also, the Engineering Units Conversion read as follows before the change: "POLYNOM I % = I % 02 NONLINEAR TO 11 % THEN LINEAR, CURVE ATT." It now reads:
"POLYNOM I % = 1% 02." The response is now linearized for the entire range. This change was made for both the drywell and torus oxygen concentration data points.
Additionally, the Reference Point Notes for the torus hydrogen concentration is being changed. Prior to the change the notes read as follows: "2 RNG (0 to 10)/(0 to 30)
ONLY WIDE USED." The notes now read as follows: "2 RNG (0 to 10)/(0 to 30)."
For oxygen, the NRC ERDS parameter ID is 02 CONC, and the Point ID is 02D. For the drywell oxygen concentration the Generic/Condensed description is "DW OXYGEN CONC." For the torus oxygen concentration the Generic/Condensed description is "TORUS OXYGEN CONC."
For hydrogen, the NRC ERDS Parameter is H2 CONC and the Point ID is H2T. The Generic /Condensed description is "TORUS HYDROGEN CONC."
