SUMMARY
OF DECEMBER 8, 2025, PRESUBMITTAL MEETING WITH ENTERGY OPERATIONS, INC. TO DISCUSS A PROPOSED EXEMPTION TO ALIGN INSERVICE INSPECTION INTERVALS FOR THE ENTERGY FLEET (EPID L-2025-LRM-0137)
On December 8, 2025, an Observation public meeting was held between the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff and representatives of Entergy Operations, Inc. (Entergy, the licensee). The purpose of this meeting was to discuss a proposed exemption to align inservice inspection (ISI) intervals for Arkansas Nuclear One, Units 1 and 2 (ANO, Units 1 and 2); Grand Gulf Nuclear Station, Unit 1 (Grand Gulf); River Bend Station, Unit 1 (River Bend); and Waterford Steam Electric Station, Unit 3 (Waterford 3) (referred to as the Entergy Fleet). The meeting notice and agenda, dated November 19, 2025, are available in the Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) at Accession No. ML25323A323. A list of attendees is provided in the enclosure.
During the meeting, Entergy provided a slide presentation to facilitate the discussion. The slide presentation is available in ADAMS at Accession No. ML25273A354.
The proposed exemption would propose to end the current ISI intervals for all units in the Entergy Fleet on a common date. Entergy proposes extending the current interval dates for ANO, Unit 1, Grand Gulf, River Bend and Waterford 3 to November 30, 2029, approximately 24 months. The ANO, Unit 2, interval would be reduced by approximately 4 months. Entergy stated that exemption requests would support Entergys ability to maximize efficiencies and optimize the use of internal operating experience because all Entergy Fleet units would be utilizing common procedures, processes, training, and knowledge.
There were no members of the public in attendance. No meeting feedback forms were received.
No regulatory decisions were made at the meeting.
