VALLECITOS NUCLEAR CENTER - EXEMPTION FROM TITLE 10 OF THE CODE OF FEDERAL REGULATIONS PART 20, APPENDIX G, SECTION III.E (EPID L-2025-LLE-0029)
Dear Adam W. Ball:
The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) has granted NorthStar Vallecitos, LLC (NSV) the enclosed exemption from the requirements of Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations Part 20, Appendix G,Section III.E, for investigating, tracking and reporting shipments of low-level radioactive wastes (LLW) where receipt is not acknowledged by the recipient within 20 days after transfer to the shipper. The exemption extends the receipt acknowledgment period from 20 days to 45 days before NSV will have to investigate, trace and report on the status of LLW shipments being transported from the Vallecitos Nuclear Center to a licensed low-level radioactive waste processing or land disposal facility.
