TRISO-X Document Request - Construction Inspection and Management Measure Inspection
- Jennifer,
This email is to notify you that the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) Region II will conduct a construction and management measures program inspection at the proposed TRISO-X facility during the week of March 9, 2026. The inspection will focus on the core inspection procedures described in Inspection Manual Chapter 2694; and will use Inspection Procedures 88200.C - Inspection of Structural Steel and Supports at Fuel Cycle Facilities, 88200.K - Inspection of Safety-Significant Welding at Fuel Cycle, and 88201 -
Inspection of Management Measures during Construction of Fuel Cycle Facilities. The inspection results will be documented in an integrated Inspection Report 2025-004.
The inspection team will consist of myself as lead inspector and Luis Colon-Fuentes.
Experience has shown that these inspections are resource intensive both for the NRC inspectors and your staff. To minimize the impact to your onsite resources and to conduct a productive inspection, I have attached a request of documents needed to support the inspection. It is important that all these documents are up to date, complete, and ready for the inspectors upon arrival at the facility. As previously discussed, these documents should be uploaded to the SharePoint site. Please provide Luis access to the site as soon as practical.
Luis and I plan to be on-site the morning of the 9th. Please let us know if you would like to have an Entrance meeting that day to go over the scope of the inspection, logistics, or any other items.
If there are any questions about this inspection or the material requested, including if you note items that are unclear or unduly burdensome, please contact me by email, or at 404-997-4509.
Thank you,
Tony
