Meeting Summary:
On September 5, 2025, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff held a partially closed meeting with Energy Northwest New Nuclear (ENNN) staff to discuss the Energy Northwest New Nuclear SMR Integrated Environmental Review White Paper, Revision 0.
The main points of discussion during the public portion of the meeting included:
Key agencies: NRC, U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), and Washington States Energy Facility Site Evaluation Council (EFSEC).
Objectives:
o National Environmental Policy Act and State Environmental Policy Act coordination.
o Maximize efficiency of approvals for:
Construction Permit and Operating License from NRC.
Lease amendment from DOE.
Site Certification Agreement from EFSEC.
The meeting went into closed session to discuss proprietary information.
