MEMORANDUM TO:

Those on the Attached List FROM:

Scott C. Flanders, Director Chief Information Officer Office of the Chief Information Officer

SUBJECT:

REQUEST TO PARTICIPATE IN WEBSITE REDESIGN FOCUS GROUP As part of our ongoing efforts to improve user experience, enhance functionality, and ensure compliance with the U.S. Web Design System (USWDS), the Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) is initiating a redesign of our NRCs public website. To ensure the new design reflects the needs and preferences of our users, we are forming a focus group comprised of employees from across the agency.

The OCIO web redesign team requires offices assistance identifying staff who are willing to share their insights, feedback, and ideas regarding the current website and its future direction.

The team is looking to initiate the discovery phase of the project beginning approximately the second week of January. To meet this accelerated timeline, OCIO has developed a draft list of staff who are believed to be best suited in helping OCIO and the agency meet project objectives. This list was created to ensure representation from key stakeholder areas across the agency.

The proposed list of staff includes: Shaun Anderson, Christian Araguas, Helen Chang, Chris Douglas, Jon Greives, Aaron McCraw, Aida Rivera-Varona, Sally Wilding Participation involves attending weekly sessions for the next three months to review design concepts like wireframes, provide feedback on the site's look and feel, identify pain points, and help shape the final product. Feel free to submit alternative names if there are better candidates.

To ensure the success of the website redesign focus group, we kindly ask that all participants remain actively engaged throughout the process. Your feedback and involvement are essential to shaping a website that meets the needs of our users. If a participant is unable to attend scheduled sessions or contribute meaningfully, we may need to reassign their spot to another employee to maintain momentum and ensure balanced input. We appreciate your understanding and commitment to this important initiative.
