On December 11, 2025, members of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), Region II, Division of Operating Reactor Safety, Engineering Branch 3, engaged in touchpoint with staff at NextEra Energys Floridia Power and Lights St. Lucie Nuclear Station to discuss inservice inspection activities performed at St. Lucie unit 1 during a planned refueling outage in the fall of 2025.
Scope of Communication Discuss the completion status of all ISI inspections planned for the outage Review a summary of any examinations planned for the current outage that were not completed, including confirmation that deferral of the examination is permitted by the Code.
Review a summary of defects and relevant conditions identified in ASME components during the outage and the action taken to accept the component for continued service. This may be more easily discussed over a simplified table.
If reactor vessel head examinations were performed, discuss the scope of examinations performed and the results.

The results of SG tube inspections, including the number of tubes plugged during the outage and whether any new degradation mechanisms were identified.
The result of any secondary side inspection and maintenance activities (visual inspection, sludge lancing, etc.)
