Environmental Assessments None.

6 Categorical Exclusion Checklists (CEC)

CEC 54216 Proposed Amertap projects at SQN include condenser tube cleaning system replacement and condenser tube cleaning system Amertap replacement (Tertiary). The Amertap system is a passive, continuous condenser tube cleaning system used on Units 1 and 2 to continuously remove fouling and scaling and prevent the deposit of materials.

The systems were installed in the 1970s and debris filters installed in the 1990s.

Currently, components to these systems are obsolete and cannot be maintained, leading to performance and reliability concerns. Upgrades include installation or replacement of:

HE/TI Modification Kits, Differential Pressure Measuring System, Ball Collectors, and Digital Control System Components.

CEC 54063 Project proposes to refurbish the Sequoyah Moisture Separator Re-Heaters (MSRs) with the MSR upgrade kit designed and fabricated by TEI. The upgrade kit includes replacing the MSR internals to include new distribution headers, perforation plates, advanced double pocket chevrons, and floor drain configurations. Installation of the upgrade kit will require side access to the MSR via a new shell side manway.

CEC 53407 This project would replace roofs at SQN including the Training Center Annex Building, Paint/Sandblast Shop, and the Old Steam Generator Storage Building Roof.

CEC 53342 TVA proposes to install the following at the SQN 500kV switchyard: new switch house, B-set distance relay on the East Cleveland terminal and spare breaker 998, breaker failure relay for breaker 964, 8 new motor operated switches, 6 voltage transformers on bus 1-3 and 2-2, 3 potential transformers, tertiary reactor, station service transformer, cable tray inside the plant, and cable trenches for conduit in the yard. TVA will replace existing 161kV motor operated breaker isolation switches, associated jumpers, and common station service transformer D and retire capacitor bank 1 and 2, capacitor bank breakers 1004 and 1008, and all associated switches, bus work, relays, and controls.

TVA will convert both pilot relaying schemes from permissive over-reaching transfer trip to directional comparison blocking for the SQN-Hiwassee 500kV TL and the SQN-Watts Bar NP 500kV TL, replace Digital Protection Units and convert to IP Transport at SQN and Watts Bar NP 500kV Switchyards and Hiwassee, TN 500kV Substation.

VIII.

NON-ROUTINE REPORTS None.

IX.

SPECIAL STUDIES None.

X.

CHANGES IN APPROVED ENVIRONMENTAL TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION There were no changes in approved ETSs during this period.
