Jeanne and Ben, By letter dated May 12, 2025 (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System Accession No. ML25132A313), Southern Nuclear Operating Company (SNC, the licensee) submitted a license amendment request (LAR) for the Vogtle Electric Generating Plant (Vogtle),
Units 1 and 2. The proposed LAR would revise the Vogtle, Unit 1 and 2, licensing basis to support a full scope application of an Alternate Source Term (AST) methodology following the guidance in Regulatory Guide 1.183, Revision 1.
By email dated June 16, 2025 (ML25167A226), the NRC staff accepted the LAR for review with an estimated completion date of May 12, 2026.
By email dated November 14, 2025 (ML25321A270), the NRC staff revised the estimated completion date for this LAR is June 24, 2026, due to the Federal Government shutdown from October 1 to November 12, 2025.
However, the NRC staff had a typographical error and the revised estimated completion date for this LAR is June 23, 2026.
