TRISO-X - U.S. NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMMISSION INSPECTION REPORT NO. 70-7027/2025-006
Dear Jennifer Wheeler:
This letter refers to the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) inspection oversight activities conducted from January 1 through November 7, 2025, for TRISO-X, located in Oak Ridge, Tennessee.
Inspection Report Number 07007027/2025-006 was used as the documentation mechanism for direct fee-billable hours associated with routine communications related to NRCs inspection oversight of TRISO-X. These activities were tracked under cost activity code FBFF - Routine Inspection Related Communications.
As of November 7, 2025, this inspection report is being formally closed following your notification regarding the start of safety-related construction activities. Accordingly, a new Inspection Report, Number 07007027/2025-004, was initiated effective November 8, 2025, to document and track these safety-related construction activities.
Moving forward, TRISO-X construction activities will be captured in integrated quarterly inspection reports. These reports will incorporate the applicable inspection procedures outlined in Inspection Manual Chapter 2694, Fuel Cycle Facility Construction and Pre-Operational Readiness Review Inspection Program.
