LICENSE AMENDMENT 49 - APPROVAL OF REVISED LICENSE APPLICATION CHAPTER 10, DECOMMISSIONING (ENTERPRISE PROJECT IDENTIFIER NO. L-2025-DFA-0020)
Dear Daniel Ashworth:
In accordance with your request dated June 26, 2025 (not publicly available because of the proprietary information contained therewithin), and pursuant to Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations (10 CFR) Part 70, Materials License SNM-42 is hereby amended to approve the updated financial assurance documents and the associated revision to chapter 10, Decommissioning, of the license application for BWXT Nuclear Operations Group, Inc. -
Lynchburg, Virginia (BWXT NOG-L). The review of the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff is documented in the enclosed safety evaluation report. Accordingly, Safety Condition S-1 of Materials License SNM-42 has been revised to reflect the approved revision of chapter 10 of the BWXT NOG-L license application, which was transmitted to the NRC by letter dated November 22, 2024 (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System [ADAMS]
Accession No. ML24340A209). This letter concludes the action on this application and Enterprise Project Identifier No. L-2025-DFA-0020 is considered CLOSED.
All other license conditions shall remain the same. The enclosures to this letter provide the amended Materials License SNM-42 and the safety evaluation report from the review of the updated financial assurance documents and the aforementioned revision to chapter 10 of the BWXT NOG-L license application. contains sensitive security-related information. Accordingly, it is marked as Official Use Only, and is withheld from public disclosure. When separated from Enclosure 2, this letter and Enclosures 1 and 3 are decontrolled and publicly available, in accordance with 10 CFR 2.390 of the NRCs "Agency Rules of Practice and Procedure."
