November 18, 2025 Caterina Fox Director for the Office of Nonproliferation Office of Nonproliferation and Arms Control National Nuclear Security Administration U.S. Department of Energy 1000 Independence Avenue, S.W.
Washington, D.C. 20585
Dear Dir. Fox:
Enclosed is an export license application, XCOM1375, accepted for review by the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission on August 14, 2025. Mirion Technologies (IST) Corporation is seeking approval to export 4 compensated ion chamber assemblies for measurement and monitoring of thermal neutron flux radiation for the KiJang Research Reactor (KJRR) in the Republic of Korea.
We would appreciate your assistance in obtaining assurances from the ROK that meet at least the criteria from Section 109b of the Atomic Energy Act of 1954, as amended. In previous component export cases that were similar, the ROK has indicated that they will review each application before providing assurances.
Please note that the dollar amount on the NRC Form 7 is proprietary information. The NRC will not include this in the public record and requests that the Executive Branch agencies protect it as well.
If you have any questions or need additional information, please contact Lara Garrity at Lara.Garrity@NRC.gov and please forward your response to this request to ecnp_ebresponse.resource@nrc.gov.
Sincerely, X
Andrea Ferkile Andrea Ferkile, Branch Chief Export Controls and Nonproliferation Branch Office of International Programs
