VOGTLE ELECTRIC GENERATING PLANT UNIT 3 & UNIT 4 - OPERATOR LICENSING WRITTEN EXAMINATION APPROVAL (05200025/2025301 AND 05200026/2025301)
Dear Jason Overstreet:
The purpose of this letter is to provide U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) approval of the proposed written examination and operating test under Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations (10 CFR) 55.40(b)(4) and to confirm the final arrangements for the upcoming operator licensing examination at the Vogtle Electric Generating Plant Unit 3 & 4.
The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) has approved the subject examinations, and you may administer the written examination in accordance with Revision 12 to NUREG-1021, Operator Licensing Examination Standards for Power Reactors, during the week of November 24, 2025 or December 1, 2025. The NRC staff will administer the operating tests during the weeks of November 12, 2025, and November 17, 2025. The list of the applicants approved to take the examination has been provided to your office.
The examination has undergone extensive review by my staff and representatives responsible for licensed operator training at your facility. Based on this review, I have concluded that the examination meets the guidelines of NUREG-1021 for content, operational, and discrimination validity. By administering this examination, you also agree that it meets NUREG-1021 guidelines and is appropriate for measuring the qualifications of licensed operator applicants at your facility. If you determine that this examination is not appropriate for licensing operators at your facility, do not administer the examination and contact me at (404) 997-4718.
