REFORM OF NRC REGULATIONS
Dear David M. Howe:
Thank you for the letter dated October 8, 2025, providing Oregon Radiation Protection Services (RPS) and Oregon Department of Energys (ODOE) views on U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) Government-to-Government meeting regarding Executive Order (EO) 14300, Ordering the Reform of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission held September 3, 2025.
During this meeting NRC staff presented a preliminary overview of proposed rule changes, in response to EO 14300, that may impact Agreement States. We appreciate your detailed comments on this material and will take them into consideration as we continue to develop the proposed rules.
If the Commission approves a proposed rule, it will be published in the Federal Register for comment. We encourage you to provide comments on the proposed rules, especially to indicate any impacts you perceive from the approach provided or related issues.
