Dear Mr. Ortiz Gonzalez:
Holtec International appreciates the NRC staffs on-going review of the License Amendment Request (LAR) 9374-3 to the HI-STAR 80 Certificate of Compliance (CoC) Number 71-9374.
This letter contains the responses to the staffs request for additional information [1] in both proprietary and non-proprietary forms as enclosures 1 and 2. In addition to the response to the request for additional information, several additional changes are proposed. All changes are identified in the summary of proposed changes (SOPC) provided in Enclosure 3 to facilitate the staffs review. The SOPC includes reasons and justifications for various safety significant changes. contains Holtecs proposed changes to the Certificate of Compliance (CoC) for the staffs convenience. Enclosures 5 and 6 contain the Safety Analysis Report (SAR) for the HI-STAR 80 Package (both proprietary and non-proprietary versions). Enclosures 7 through 9 contain various supporting documents such as calculation packages.
0 is an affidavit prepared in accordance with 10 CFR 2.390 requesting that Enclosures marked as Holtec proprietary be withheld from public disclosure.
