To: USDOT, PHMSA On behalf of Nordion (Canada) Inc., I would like to submit an application for the revalidation of the above-mentioned Transport Certificate. A copy is attached.
Please note this newly issued certificate was amended to be in in compliance with the current requirements of the IAEA document SSR-6, Regulations for the Safe Transport of Radioactive Material 2018 Edition.
It would be greatly appreciated if the new USDOT endorsement could be issued over the next few months to enable our transport activities in the US to be carried out in compliance with the IAEA document SSR-6 Regulations for the Safe Transport of Radioactive Material 2018 Edition.
In support of this endorsement request we have enclosed a copy of the letter submitted by Nordion to the CNSC on November 14, 2024 to update the certificate to the current requirements of the IAEA document SSR-6, Regulations for the Safe Transport of Radioactive Material 2018 Edition.
Additional supporting documents enclosed are IN/DS 1811 F-168 (rev 3) and IN/TR 2707 F-168 (rev 1). You will note that these two documents have a DRAFT watercolor until we obtain the necessary Competent Authority Approvals via CDN/2081/B(U)
Rev 6 (already obtained) and USA/0617/B(U) (Rev 9), the object of this validation request.
The last page of these documents confirms they are fully approved final version procedures by our subjects experts.
