Subject:
[External_Sender] Docket No. 50-255-LA-5 Date:
Monday, September 15, 2025 4:45:25 PM Direct submission of this Limited Appearance Statement was allowed by the Atomic Safety and Licensing Board, Initial Prehearing Order (ASLBP No. 25-990-02-LA-BD01, Docket No. 50-255-LA-5, August 5, 2025)
(ML25217A517).
To Whom It May Concern:
We are extremely concerned about the safety of the Palisades Nuclear Power Plant.
The health and welfare of the people living near the power plant should be the most important consideration when making any decisions about the power plant. A few specific concerns are:
Holtec should not be allowed to restart the plant before all safety issues have been carefully and properly implemented and inspected.
Safety evaluations need to include incident-based analyses not just risk models.
All parties involved in a restart, including Holtec and the NRC should be held to the same standards as other plants.
Our community needs transparency and enforcement regarding all safety issues.
PLEASE keep the health and safety of all the people, animals, water and land as most important factors when making decisions.
Respectfully, Martha & Rhett Murray Covert, MI email: martimur@aol.com
