Closeout of Clinch River Nuclear Site Environmental Audit
Dear Scott Hunnewell,
This email serves as the official closeout of the environmental audit conducted for the Clinch River Nuclear Site construction permit.
At the outset of the audit, the NRC staff identified 55 information needs to be discussed with the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) team. Between July 14 and July 25, breakout sessions were held to address these information needs by resource area. Additional meetings were conducted in the following weeks, as requested.
In total, the NRC issued one Request for Additional Information and 53 Requests for Confirmation of Information. TVA responded to all requests in a timely and efficient manner.
We would like to extend our sincere thanks to the TVA staff who participated in the audit. The NRC greatly appreciates TVAs coordination, responsiveness, and constructive engagement throughout this regulatory process.
