Dear Matthew Shields,
As a follow-up the voicemail message I left you today, in accordance with Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations, Section 50.91(b), I am seeking any comments you may have on the Nuclear Regulatory Commissions proposed no significant hazards consideration for a license amendment request submitted by Susquehanna, LLC (the licensee) for the Susquehanna Units 1 & 2.
Please reply if the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania has comments on the proposed no significant hazards consideration for the following license amendment request: SUSQUEHANNA STEAM ELECTRIC STATION PROPOSED AMENDMENT TO LICENSES NPF-14 AND NPF-22: REQUEST TO REVISE TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION 5.5.12, PRIMARY CONTAINMENT LEAKAGE RATE TESTING PROGRAM, FOR PERMANENT EXTENSION OF TYPE A AND TYPE C LEAK RATE TESTING FREQUENCIES AND PERMANENTLY EXTEND THE DRYWELL BYPASS LEAKAGE TEST FREQUENCY (NRC Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Accession Nos. ML24306A122) as supplemented by letter dated June 26,2025 (ML25177C510)
The proposed amendments would modify the primary containment leak rate testing program TS by extending testing intervals and frequencies. The proposed amendments to the TS would also replace certain guidance document references and delete information regarding the performance of tests that have been successfully performed.
2 The proposed no significant hazards consideration for this amendment request was published in the Federal Register on 1/21/2025 (90 FR 7193, provided in the listserv email, which you can sign up for at https://www.nrc.gov/public-involve/listserver/plants-by-region.html).
Your response is requested by 9/15/2025. If you have any questions, please call me at (301) 415-1721.
