STAFF RESPONSE TO THE OFFICE OF THE INSPECTOR GENERALS AUDIT OF THE U.S. NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMMISSIONS USE OF OPERATING EXPERIENCE IN EMERGENCY DIESEL GENERATORS OVERSIGHT (OIG-25-A-10)
The staff has received the Office of the Inspector Generals (OIGs) report for Audit OIG-25-A-10, Audit of the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commissions Use of Operating Experience in Emergency Diesel Generators Oversight, dated August 26, 2025. This memorandum provides the staffs response to the seven OIG recommendations. The staff has identified actions to address these recommendations with the goal of balancing timeliness, clarity, and efficiency while ensuring the NRCs Operating Experience Program remains robust.
