Frequently Asked Questions Payment of Invoice Effective October 1, 2024, the NRC will no longer accept paper-based payments, including checks and paper credit card forms. The NRC lockbox is closed. Paper-based payments will be returned to the sender.

When is the payment due?

The payment is due immediately. The NRC will charge interest for any payments that are not received within 30 days of the invoice date.

How do I pay the invoice?

Payment can be made by one of the following methods:

Pay.gov: Pay.gov is U.S. Government's secure, online payment system by the Department of Treasury. It allows you to submit payments to the federal government electronically for free. Electronic payments can be made using debit/

credit card, Venmo, Pay Pal, and bank account (ACH). Instructions to pay using Pay.gov.

EDI/ACH: The NRC can accept electronic payments using electronic data interchange (EDI) through the Automated Clearinghouse (ACH) Network. To pay by ACH, you may obtain a copy of NRC Form 628, FINANCIAL EDI AUTHORIZATION, by calling the NRCs collection service provider, DOI/NBC, at (303) 969-5880. If you have any questions about EDI/ACH payments, please contact our depositary bank, U.S. Treasury, at 202-874-7026.
