Dear Mr. Gonzalez,
Please see the attached letter that requests initiation of consultation under Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act. The attached letter and maps were put in the mail for hard copy delivery to your Tribal leader on Friday, August 15, 2025.
This consultation request is for the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commissions (NRCs) review of a construction permit application for four small modular advanced nuclear reactors at the Long Mott Generating Station in Calhoun County, Texas, on the site of the Dow Chemical Company. The attached letter contains detailed information about the project, hyperlinks to project documents (including archaeological and architectural survey reports), and an overview of the Section 106 consultation schedule.
Please reach out to me via email or by phone if you have any questions or concerns, or if you would like to schedule a meeting to discuss the project further. The project archaeologist and I are happy to meet with you at your convenience.
