ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF RESPONSE TO NRC INSPECTION REPORT
05000424/2025010 AND 05000425/2025010 AND DISPUTED NON-CITED
VIOLATION
Dear Jamie Coleman:
This letter acknowledges your July 18, 2025, correspondence (Agencywide Document and
Access Management System (ADAMS) Accession No. ML25199A237) sent in response to
U.S. NRC Inspection Report 05000424/2025010 and 05000425/2025010 (ML25167A082) dated
June 20, 2025. In your letter, you dispute one non-cited violation (NCV 05000424,05000425/2025010-01) associated with the failure to maintain the qualification of digital
governors for emergency diesel generators (EDG). Specifically, the NRCs inspection report
asserted that Vogtle failed to verify that modifications to the qualified configuration of the EDG
governor would continue to ensure acceptable performance when exposed to electromagnetic
interference (EMI). The NRC is currently reviewing your basis for contesting the violation in
accordance with Part I, Section 2.8 of the Enforcement Manual. Accordingly, we will provide the
results of our evaluation by written response upon completion of our review.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.390, Agency Rules of Practice, a copy of this letter will be made
available electronically for public inspection in the NRC Public Document Room or in the NRCs
ADAMS, accessible from the NRCs website at http://www.nrc.gov/reading-rm/adams.html.
