Florida Power and Light Company ATTN: Keith Maestas Training Manager Turkey Point Nuclear Power Plant 9760 SW 344th Street Homestead, FL 33035

SUBJECT:

TURKEY POINT NUCLEAR POWER PLANT-OPERATOR LICENSING EXAMINATION APPROVAL (05000250/2025301 AND 05000251/2025301)

Dear Keith Maestas:

The purpose of this letter is to confirm the final arrangements for the upcoming operator licensing examination at the Turkey Point Nuclear Plants, Units 3 and 4.

The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) has completed its review of the operator license applications submitted in connection with this examination and has provided a list of approved applicants to your office in separate correspondence. There were no waivers or excusals requested by any applicant for this examination.

The NRC has approved the subject examinations, and you may administer the written examination in accordance with Revision 12 to NUREG-1021, Operator Licensing Examination Standards for Power Reactors, either during the week of August 25, 2025, or during the week of September 1, 2025, depending on the availability of your NRC proctor and your assessment of applicant readiness. The NRC staff will administer the operating tests during the weeks of August 18, 2025, and August 25, 2025.

The examination has undergone extensive review by my staff and representatives responsible for licensed operator training at your facility. Based on this review, I have concluded that the examination meets the guidelines of NUREG-1021 for content, operational, and discrimination validity. By administering this examination, you also agree that it meets NUREG-1021 guidelines and is appropriate for measuring the qualifications of licensed operator applicants at your facility.

If you determine that this examination is not appropriate for licensing operators at your facility, do not administer the examination and contact me at (404) 997-4718.
