Dear Dir. Warden:
Enclosed is export license amendment application PXB244.01 from Halliburton Energy Services, Inc. which was accepted for review by the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), on July 01, 2025. In this export license amendment, Halliburton Energy Services, Inc. is seeking approval to modify its current export license (PXB244.00), which authorizes the export of Category 2 quantities of Americium-241, Americium-241/Beryllium, Cesium-137 contained in sealed sources for use in oil and gas well logging operations to Iraq.
The purpose of the export license amendment is to extend the license for 2 years.
Since Iraq is on the embargoed list (10 CFR Part 110.28), before taking action on this request, we would appreciate your views, in accordance with established procedures and from the overall perspective of the Executive Branch, as to whether the requested export meets the applicable criteria in the Atomic Energy Act of 1954, as amended.
