OF JULY 14, 2025, HYBRID PARTIALLY CLOSED PRE-APPLICATION MEETING WITH GENERAL MATTER, INC.
REGARDING MANAGEMENT MEASURES FOR SAFETY PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT On July 14, 2025, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff held a hybrid partially closed pre-application meeting with General Matter, Inc. (General Matter) to discuss the management measures planned to be implemented during the design of its fuel fabrication facility. The General Matter representatives discussed the methodology and concepts planned for their management measures program. Included in the discussions were management measures and configuration management for the development of the safety program. The NRC staff provided comments and feedback during the meeting. A member of the public was concerned that unfamiliar chemicals could be used in the General Matter process and asked if the NRC has test programs for new chemicals.
