Dear Mr. Coffey:

By letter dated August 3, 2021 (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Package Accession No. ML21215A314), as revised by letter dated October 12, 2021 (ML21285A107), and supplemented by letters dated April 7, 2022 (ML22097A202),

April 13, 2022 (ML22103A014), May 19, 2022 (ML22139A083), June 13, 2022 (ML22164A802),

July 11, 2022 (ML22192A078), August 9, 2022 (ML22221A134), September 8, 2022 (ML22251A202), September 19, 2022 (ML22262A149), September 22, 2022 (ML22265A134),

September 28, 2022 (ML22271A399), October 26, 2022 (ML22299A037), March 27, 2023 (ML23086B990) and April 21, 2023 (ML23111A129), Florida Power & Light Company (FPL or the applicant) submitted an application for the subsequent license renewal (SLR) of Renewed Facility Operating License Nos. DPR-67 and NPF-16 for the St. Lucie Plant, Unit Nos. 1 and 2 (St. Lucie), to the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC). FPL submitted the application for SLR pursuant to Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations part 54, Requirements for Renewal of Operating Licenses for Nuclear Power Plants.

By letter dated September 24, 2021 (Package ML21246A090), the NRC staff concluded that the application was acceptable for docketing. By letter dated March 3, 2025 (ML25007A222), the staff issued the staffs projected review schedule for the St. Lucie subsequent license renewal application (SLRA).

The purpose of this letter is to inform you of changes in the review schedule for the St. Lucie SLRA. The revisions reflect several staff efficiencies that have been applied to the environmental and safety reviews since the original schedule was set.

The enclosure of this letter provides the staffs revised projected schedule for the St. Lucie SLRA review. The staff will strive to meet the milestones ahead of the revised schedule whenever feasible.

Based on the current status of the review and implemented efficiencies, the staff estimates that the review of the SLRA will take approximately 19,650 hours0.00752 days <br />0.181 hours <br />0.00107 weeks <br />2.47325e-4 months <br /> to complete. This reflects an August 12, 2025

R. Coffey estimate of 14,550 hours0.00637 days <br />0.153 hours <br />9.093915e-4 weeks <br />2.09275e-4 months <br /> for the safety review and 5,100 hours0.00116 days <br />0.0278 hours <br />1.653439e-4 weeks <br />3.805e-5 months <br /> for the environmental review.

These estimates are a reduction from the original estimate of 23,000 hours0 days <br />0 hours <br />0 weeks <br />0 months <br /> for the combined safety and environmental review.
