Dear UNITED STATES NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMMISSION WASHINGTON, D.C. 20555-0001 December 18, 2024 PROPOSED GENERIC ISSUE PRE-2024-001 Thank you for proposing an issue for review in the Generic Issue Process. The proposed generic issue relating to potential events leading to spent fuel storage pool draining or boil-off, progression and consequences of spent fuel fires in storage pools, and spent fuel pool nuclear criticality excursions, which you recently submitted to the GI Program, has been received. This proposed issue has been entered into the Generic Issues Management Control System for tracking purposes as PRE-2024-001.
