REQUALIFICATION PROGRAM INSPECTION - VOGTLE ELECTRIC GENERATING PLANT UNITS 1&2

Dear Jason Overstreet:

During a telephone conversation on June 24, 2025, Mr. D. Lanyi, Senior Operations Engineer, and Mr. William Burns, Regulatory Exam Author, Vogtle 1&2, made arrangements for the NRC to inspect the licensed operator requalification program at the Vogtle Nuclear Generating Station Units 1&2. The inspection is planned for the week of August 4, 2025, which coincides with your regularly scheduled requalification examination cycle. The staff at your facility should prepare and conduct the requalification examinations in accordance with your NRC-approved requalification program. It is our understanding that you have committed to maintain your plant-referenced simulator in accordance with ANSI/ANS 3.5-2009, American National Standard for Nuclear Power Plant Simulators for Use in Operator Training and Examination.

In accordance with 10 CFR 55.59, the NRC has requested that you submit the material as specified in paragraph A of the Enclosure, to support the NRC's in-office inspection program needs. The NRC has further requested that you have all items as specified in paragraph B of the Enclosure available for review for the inspectors on the first day they arrive on site. Mr.

Burns has been advised of this request and provided with the name of the NRC lead inspector assigned to this inspection. The methodology to transfer, electronically, materials has been coordinated with him.

This letter contains information collections that are subject to the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995 (44 U.S.C. 3501 et seq.). These information collections were approved by the Office of Management and Budget, approval number Part 55 (3150-0018).

Organizational Chart for the training department, including the simulator fidelity staff, with phone number/email contact information. [July 21, 2025]

3.

Weekly examination schedules for the weeks that the 2025 annual operating exams will be administered, including a list of personnel scheduled for testing the week of August 4, 2025. [July 21, 2025]

4.

The 2024 biennial written examination that was approved for administration for the second week of the training cycle, re-take examinations, and spreadsheets or outlines that show the usage of written examination questions on the different versions of the written examinations administered during all the 2024 annual exam weeks. Site procedure(s) governing the conduct (process and content) of license operator requalification training (classroom & simulator), examination development/administration, remedial training, and examination security. [July 21, 2025]
