However, please let us know if you have any additional questions or concerns about the mitigation measures we proposed. We would appreciate being copied on any Section 106 documentation as well.

[External] Vallecitos Nuclear Center Consultation
Hello The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) is reviewing the proposed license amendment request (LAR) for the Vallecitos Boiling Water Reactor (VBWR) and General Electric Test Reactor (GETR) (Project) in Alameda County, California (ML24270A224). Consultation pursuant to the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA) Section 106 was initiated with the California State Historic Preservation Officer (SHPO) and 14 tribes. The NRC received responses from the CA SHPO and one Tribe expressing interest in participating in consultation. Additionally, the Advisory Council on Historic Preservation, NorthStar (the licensee) and the American Society of Mechanical Engineers were informed that consultation was initiated on the Project.
In continuation of this consultation process the NRC is scheduling a meeting to discuss next steps in the NHPA Section 106 process. I am proposing to hold our first meeting during the first or second week of July. Below are proposed dates and a range of starting times that work for the NRC staff. I think we should plan on a 2-hour meeting with a start time between 1:00pm &
3:00pm EDT, thus an end time between 3:00pm & 5:00pm. Please identify all start times between 1:00-3:00 that work for you and NRC will select times that best accommodate all of the consulting parties. If none of the proposed dates fit your schedule, please suggest alternate dates or reach out to the NRC (Jean Trefethen and Beau Goldstein) to discuss a better time.
