OF THE JUNE 11, 2025, PUBLIC OUTREACH TO DISCUSS THE NRC 2024 END-OF-CYCLE PLANT PERFORMANCE ASSESSMENT OF MONTICELLO NUCLEAR GENERATING PLANT On June 11, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. (CDT), an information meeting (open house) was held by representatives of the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) to provide the public with information on the 2024 End-of-Cycle plant performance assessment of the Monticello Nuclear Generating Plant, and with general information on the NRC. The open house was held at the Monticello Community Center in Monticello, MN. The NRC representatives discussed plant performance with members of the public and a number of local and state employees.
Representatives from Xcel Energy were also present at the event.
The NRC discussed their assessment of Monticellos performance during the public outreach.
The assessment information was documented in the March 11, 2025, End-of-Cycle Assessment Letter (ADAMS Accession Number ML25065A009). Throughout the open house, members of the public were given the opportunity to ask questions of NRC staff.
