For Your Info - Revised Completion Date - Vogtle 3 and 4 LAR to Remove Completed License Conditions from the COL
- Ken, By letter dated February 27, 2025 (ML25058A477), Southern Nuclear Operating Company (SNC) submitted a license amendment request (LAR) for Vogtle Electric Generating Plant (Vogtle), Units 3 and 4. The requested LAR proposes to remove completed combined license (COL) conditions, to modify other COL conditions, and to remove some unit-specific Technical Specification (TS) and COL language that is no longer applicable. In the letter dated February 27, 2025, SNC requested that the NRC staff review and approve this LAR no later than 12 months from acceptance.
By email dated March 6, 2025 (ML25065A076), the NRC staff accepted the LAR for review with an estimated 80 hours9.259259e-4 days <br />0.0222 hours <br />1.322751e-4 weeks <br />3.044e-5 months <br /> to complete, and the NRC staff estimated its completion to be March 6, 2026, in alignment with SNCs requested completion.
The NRC has been able to realign staff assignments and readjust workloads; therefore, the revised completion date is July 31, 2025, and the estimated hours remain the same.
