Diablo Canyon LR Environmental Review: Summary of April 22 Call Between NRC and PG&E Date:

Wednesday, May 28, 2025 12:11:00 PM Hello Trevor, Please see below for a summary of our recent call regarding the historic and cultural resources review for the Diablo Canyon license renewal application. This email will be placed in ADAMS as a record of our discussion. Please let me know if you have any questions.

Summary of April 22, 2025, Call Between NRC and PG&E On April 22, 2025, the NRC staff held a virtual meeting with representatives of PG&E related to the proposed license renewal of Diablo Canyon Units 1 & 2. During the meeting, the NRC provided a status update on ongoing Section 106 consultations and discussed updates made to the historic and cultural resources section of the draft supplemental environmental impact statement (draft SEIS) as a result of comments received during the public comment period in late 2024.

PG&E shared that they are continuing work on the updated nomination form for the Rancho Canada De Los Osos y Pecho y Islay Archaeological Historic District, with a target of submitting the updated form to the California Office of Historic Preservations Registration Unit by December 2025. In response to comments on the draft SEIS provided by the yak titu titu yak tiłhini (ytt) related to a site access agreement, PG&E noted that they are willing to develop a specific site access agreement with the ytt for continued access to culturally important areas of the site. The NRC staff noted that they would share this information with the ytt during their next meeting with the Tribe.

Additionally, PG&E confirmed that Brendon Greenaway from the California Office of Historic Preservation was able to access the documents related to the Diablo Canyon license renewal requested in January 2025.
