Dear Barry Blair:
The Region I Field Office, NRC Office of Investigations (OI), initiated an investigation (Case No.
1-2024-018) on April 10, 2024, to determine whether response team members (RTMs) at Beaver Valley Nuclear Power Station (BVNPS) deliberately failed to perform required security checks. Based upon documentary and testimonial evidence developed during the OI investigation, the NRC did not substantiate that RTMs at BVNPS deliberately failed to perform required security checks. One finding of very low security significance (Green) was documented in NRC Security Baseline Inspection Report 05000334/2025402; 05000412/2025402 issued on May 5, 2025. This finding involved a non-cited violation (NCV) consistent with Section 2.3.2 of the Enforcement Policy.
