letter dated June 16, 2023 (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Accession No. ML23167C168), Mitsubishi Electric Corporation (MELCO) submitted topical report (TR)
JEXU-1041-1008-P, Revision 3, Safety System Digital Platform - MELTAC - Topical Report" for the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) review and approval.
Based on the review of the information submitted in the TR, the NRC sta "nds the TR acceptable for referencing subject to the limitations speci"ed in the MELCO TR, and in the NRCs Phase 1 of the draft safety evaluation (SE). The draft SE is being provided for a proprietary information review (editorial, clari"cation, & accuracy edits can also be provided).
A copy of the draft SE has been uploaded to the SharePoint external sharing drive folder and Mr. Ken Krayvo has been given access to the folder. To help expedite NRC stas response to comments it would be helpful if MELCO could provide feedback by using the comment/resolution table also provided on the SharePoint external sharing drive folder. If MELCO requests technical comments on any areas in the draft SE, the NRC sta will exercise its discretion on whether to address those comments. Pursuant to Section 2.390 of Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations (10 CFR), if you believe that any information in the draft SE is proprietary, MELCO should identify such information line-by-line and de"ne the basis pursuant to the criteria of 10 CFR 2.390. Use double brackets and yellow highlight to identify any ((proprietary information)). After 30 working days, the draft SE will be declared in ADAMS as nonpublic.
Your comments on the draft SE must be provided via e-mail/letter or uploaded to the external-sharing drive from an authorized individual. In addition, please provide an electronic redline/strikeout Microsoft Word version of the draft SE either via email or on the SharePoint external sharing drive. Note that at this stage of the process, the NRC sta has completed its review of the submitted information. The stas conclusions including limitations and conditions will not change unless new information is provided on the docket that was not available during our review. If MELCO would like to discuss the draft SE in detail, we can do that in a noticed meeting.
Finally, the draft SE has been placed in ADAMS (ML25139A555). The draft SE was made a nonpublic Oicial Agency Record because it may contain proprietary information. This email will be placed into ADAMS (ML25139A553), made an Oicial Agency Record, and declared publicly available.
