NRC Extension of the Chemical Safety RAI Response Due Dates from May 21 to May 30 Date:

The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff is extending the due date for the TRISO-X, LLC (TRISO-X) response to the Chemical Safety request for additional information (RAI) from May 21 (see RAI Issuance Letter dated May 1, 2025, ML25106A314) to May 30, 2025. The NRC staff held a call with TRISO-X staff on May 15, 2025, to discuss the issues related to the RAI and several examples TRISO-X provided several examples regarding the chemical safety accident analysis. Extending the due date for the RAIs by one week will allow additional time for the NRC staff and TRISO-X to hold discussions on the draft RAI response. The additional time will also allow completion of the NRC staff plans to conduct the Integrated Safety Analysis Horizontal and Vertical Slice review from May 20-22, 2025. This change in due date for the RAI response will not impact the NRC staffs proposed review schedule published March 14, 2025 (ML23305A193).
A copy of this letter will be placed in the public Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS).
