Flagged Hi Mary, As you probably saw, we sent the Section 401 Water Quality Certification letter to Palisades yesterday.
We are expecting final comments from Palisades on the draft NPDES permit by the end of this week and will send it to the EPA for a final review shortly thereafter.
You also asked about Dredging and Critical Dune Management Permit WRP020704. That permit expired in mid-April, and EGLE is currently working with Palisades on processing an application for reauthorization of the previously permitted activities (under a new permit number). The EGLE Water Resources permitting staff are waiting on some additional information from Palisades in order to continue processing that application and dont have a good estimate of when the permit would be issued. If you have additional questions on that permit, you can contact Zach Harrison (HarrisonZ2@michigan.gov).

Palisades Power Plant EGLE Permits Good afternoon, Betsy-When we met last month, EGLE had indicated that the NPDES permit, 401 Water Certification, and Dredging and Critical Dune Management Permit WRP020704 v1.0 would be issued in the mid-April time frame. We havent seen anything come through yet and are getting the Final EA ready so wondering if there are any updates.
If its easier, I can schedule a follow up meeting this week.

[External_Sender] Palisades Power Plant NPDES Permit Revised Draft Hi Mary, Thanks for meeting with us this afternoon to discuss permitting updates for Palisades Power Plant. As requested, the revised draft permit is attached. Changes from the public notice version of the draft permit are summarized on page 6 of the Basis for Decision Memo (also attached). The most significant changes are the addition of a condition requiring the facility to conduct a Thermal Plume Study (Part I.A.17.) and the addition of reporting of the duration that the final effluent temperature is greater than 80 °F (in Part I.A.1.).
