SUMMARY
OF MARCH 25, 2025, CLOSED MEETING WITH GLOBAL NUCLEAR FUEL - AMERICAS REGARDING NATURAL PHENOMENA HAZARD METHODOLOGY FOR THE DESIGN OF THE NATRIUM FUEL FABRICATION FACILITY On March 25, 2025, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff held a virtual closed meeting with Global Nuclear Fuel - Americas (GNF-A) representatives via Microsoft Teams.
The meeting was closed as proprietary information was to be discussed. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the natural phenomena hazard (NPH) methodology that GNF-A plans to implement in the design of the Natrium Fuel Fabrication Facility (NFFF).
GNF-A provided overview of the approach that GNF-A is taking for evaluation of NPH conditions, overview of high wind considerations and the NFFF evaluation basis wind speed, overview of precipitation considerations and the NFFF evaluation basis precipitation loads, and an overview of seismic considerations and the NFFF evaluation basis seismic accelerations.
No regulatory decisions were made during the meeting. A list of participants is provided as an Enclosure. The GNF-A presentation can be found in the Agencywide Documents Access and Management System at Accession No. ML25085A306 (non-public).
