UNITED STATES NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMMISSION WASHINGTON, D.C. 20555-0001 April 29, 2025 The Honorable Doug Burgum Secretary of the Interior U.S. Department of the Interior 1849 C Street NW Washington, DC 20240

Dear Secretary Burgum:

On behalf of the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), I am providing the agency's monthly status update in accordance with Section 5( c) of Executive Order 14156, entitled "Declaring a National Energy Emergency," dated January 20, 2025.

In the enclosed report the NRC has updated the status of the following sites from the initial summary report submitted March 13, 2025:

The construction permit (CP) application from Long Mott Energy, LLC (a subsidiary of Dow Chemical} to build a four-unit facility using X-energy's Xe-100 reactor design (Department of Energy Advanced Reactor Demonstration Program Awardee), was submitted on March 31, 2025.

The submittal of a new fuel fabrication license application from Kairos Power, LLC for the nuclear fuel cycle facility project (Kairos Power Atlas Fuel Fabrication Facility) has been delayed and is not anticipated until fiscal year 2028. The project has been removed from the report.

The operating licenses for Oconee Nuclear Station Units 1, 2, and 3 were renewed on March 31, 2025, for an additional 20 years, (Subsequent License Renewal, which authorizes operations from 60 to 80 years). The Section 7 Endangered Species Act consultation was completed on March 25, 2024.

Please feel free to contact me or have your staff contact Mirela Gavrilas, Executive Director for Operations, via e-mail at Mirela.Gavrilas@nrc.gov or by telephone at 301-415-1700, if you have any questions or need additional information.

Enclosure:

As stated Sincerely,
