Dear Dir. Warden:
Enclosed is export license application No. XSOU8870 which was accepted for review by the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission on February 28, 2025. In this application, Materion Advanced Chemicals, Inc. is seeking approval to export 50 kilograms of thorium fluoride to be used at the SanHe Reci Laser Equipment Manufacturing Co. Ltd., for a diverse array of industrial laser solutions in China.
We request Executive Branch views on this export license application, in accordance with established procedures and from the overall perspective of the Executive Branch, as to whether the requested export meets applicable criteria in the Atomic Energy Act of 1954, as amended, and in 10 CFR Part 110.42(c).
