- Hello,
On Monday, February 24, 2025, NRC and TVA held a clarification call regarding the following RCI and RAI responses submitted with the Environmental Report Supplement, Revision 1 (ML25050A455). We request that TVA respond to the information needs below within 30 days of the date of this correspondence.
Additionally, we appreciate an update on the status of TVAs response to RAI HCR-14 and RCI AQU-23 (ML25038A095).
RAI GW-6 The report provided as Enclosure 2, Attachment 2, appears to be complete, but the figures of the report are enlarged beyond the boundaries of the pages so that they are all cropped. The staff needs copies of the response with Enclosure 2, revised to include figures that are not cropped. Please recreate the pdf file of the report and confirm figures are properly displayed in high resolution, complete with the legends.
RCI AQ-4-LSA As discussed during the audit TVA provided a copy of their synthetic minor air permit in the ER supplement; however, TVA also included a copy of a minor air permit for fuel dispensing. Please confirm the dispensing facility air permit is active and that no notices of violation or non-compliance were issued between 2020-2024 regarding the dispensing facility air permit.
RCI GC-1-LSA
- Table 4.2-5 lists emissions, but the emissions units are not listed clearly.
Some rows list lbs while others are blank. Please confirm that all units are lbs for each greenhouse gas.
- Please confirm that TVA did not include the refrigerant and SF6 emissions (table 4.2-5) in their annual GHG emissions estimates (table 4.2-3).
RCI AQU-13 As discussed during the audit, TVA was to provide data on the number of times the plant had to be derated to meet thermal effluent limits from 2020-2023.
However, this information was not explicitly captured in the original request for confirmatory information and was not included as part of the response to AQU-13 nor the Environmental Report, Revision 1. Please provide the following information: The plant was derated X times in 2023, X times in 2022, X times in 2021, and X times in 2020, either as numeric values or in a table.
