Enclosed is export license application XSNM3847, dated January 31, 2025, received by the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), from the U.S. Department of Energy, NBL Program Office. The application requests the export of 0.1 kilograms (kg) of uranium enriched up to 99 WGT% in uranium-235 as a solid metal to Japan Nuclear Fuel Limited (JNFL) for the calibration of analytical instruments and certification of analytical methods.
Assurances from Japan that the material will be subject to all the terms and conditions of an agreement for cooperation are required. Your assistance in obtaining the necessary assurances will be appreciated.
