Dear Paul Lorskulsint:
We have reviewed your updated decommissioning cost estimate for 2025 through 2027 submitted by \
letter dated June 26, 2024 (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System [ADAMS] Accession No. ML24178A395). We approve the updated decommissioning cost estimates for 2025 through 2027. Specifically, we find that the cost estimates are based on reasonable and documented assumptions. They are also based on unrestricted use and include an adequate contingency factor. In addition, they adequately estimate the cost to carry out required decommissioning activities before license termination. We have started processing the review of your financial assurance instruments submitted via letter LES-24-146-NRC dated December 13, 2024 (ML24351A074).
Your submittal was assigned Enterprise Project Identifier (EPID) L-2024-DFA-0019. The EPID will be closed. A new EPID will be opened for processing the review and approval of the updated financial assurance instruments. Our safety evaluation report (SER) for the approval of the decommissioning cost estimates is enclosed.
In accordance with Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations 10 CFR Section 2.390, Public inspections, exemptions, requests for withholding, a copy of this letter will be available electronically for public inspection in the NRC Public Document Room (PDR) or from the Publicly Available Records component of the NRCs ADAMS. ADAMS is accessible from the NRC website at http://www.nrc.gov/reading-rm/adams.html. The PDR is open by appointment.
